What if we told you that you can use the restaurant point of sale system Lightspeed completely for free and contribute something to the ones less fortunate? “Carbon free dining” has partnered together with Lightspeed to change the world one tree at a time.
“Carbon free dining” certified restaurants plant fruit trees in the developing world: Africa, South America or Asia. Fast growing trees are planted to help the soil fertile, fruit trees are planted to provide food and a source of income and other trees are used as a fence for wind breaks. But they stand behind something much bigger than that.
The trees:
Each time you plant a tree, this tree compensates the carbon footprint of the prepared meal, as well as counterbalancing the associated food waste. This programme helps fighting hunger and poverty, at the same time planting a greener earth for the future. Locals are able to go to school and the list of benefits goes on- but let the numbers speak for themselves:
Over 3000 companies worldwide have left a green footprint. Get inspired to change the world in the videos below.
Carbon free dining is managed by The United Nations Environment partner Green Earth Appeal in partnership with Lightspeed.
