sage 50: uninstalling
In order to install a newer version of Sage, you would need to uninstall the previous version first & make sure that all files are removed from the PC.

To do this, follow these steps:

Uninstall Sage from Add / Remove Programs: Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs.

Secondly, you need to delete the previous directories from the previous installation.

If your uninstalling a Sage prior to Version 13 this would be:
  • C:\Program Files\Sage
If your uninstall a Sage post Version 13 these would be:
  • C:\Program files\Sage
  • C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Sage (Note Application Data is a hidden folder, to enable to go to My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Tick Show Hidden Files & Folders)
  • C:\ProgramData\Sage (Note Program Data is a hidden folder).

Also, we recommend running a popular registry cleaner (ccleaner).  This free utility is available in our downloads page.

With the above guide you should be able to re-install with no problems at all.
